The mission of the Historical Society of Gulfport is to bring together a group of individuals who share a common interest in the unique history of our area and seek to share information.
In respect to accomplishing the goal, the following are proposed:
Developing and caring for local history collections by establishing a public access repository
Disseminating information about Gulfport history
Planning and developing programs that reflect the history of the area
Promoting the preservation of the local area's significant cultural resources
Working with local government, civic clubs, schools and others to promote and maintain a respect for the history of Gulfport.
Gulfport is a town with a unique history of prosperity, destruction and rebuilding, worthy of sharing with those who appreciate and learn from the past.
