A Post card History of Gulfport
from the collection of Paul Jermyn

Picture
The rise in popularity of the post card in the early 1900’s coincided with the rapid growth of Gulfport with its fledging industries eager for national recognition.   Post cards represent a unique and colorful history of the Gulf Coast in a very personal way.   They were as popular as ‘email’ is today, and the little hand written notes could be considered the first tweets.
